The classic open-office concept, which in recent decades has experienced overwhelming success throughout the business world, has reached its natural zenith. According to international architects and space and office furniture designers the Living Office belongs to the future – and also in your office space.

"Office work has changed – but the most offices have not. Future offices need to attract, nurse, activate and retain their talents in a completely different way than before. Talents that can bring the company's innovation in the game," articulates the American designer giant HermanLiving Office is tomorrow's high-performing work place that lifts your daily work experience to a higher level and help your company to achieve your strategic goals Miller."

"Living Office is tomorrow's high-performing work place that lifts your daily work experience to a higher level and help your company to achieve your strategic goals."

Individual focus
Future offices will combine the large open office space with upgraded versions of the old cell office, with private employment boxes, soundproofed quiet rooms and quiet spaces, where employees can concentrate on solo work and projects.

A study commissioned by the American architectural and design firm Gensler showed that office workers in 2013 spent 54 percent of their time on tasks that require their individual attention, compared to only 48 percent in 2008.

"To design one of our Living Office landscapes is much like cooking a large and complex dinner meal," says Lori Gee, director of the working device by Herman Miller."

Our recipes are not just spatial–they must support each office employee's cognitive, social, behavioural and physical needs, whatever they work with, or where they work."

Living Office
The Living Office of the future is each individual work place’s right combination of living room and office with space and room for the employee's professional and personal work needs.

"With the company's focus on products and performance,  the work processes might as well be performed in a ‘living room’ environment as from an office desk - as long as the work processes are being completed," argues Herman Miller designers, who in recent years have launched so far 10 different workspaces / setups in the future concept Living Office.
